Sisters from the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy’s Rio de Janeiro community will take part in the 1st Latin American Congress of Mercy, to be held on 22-25 June at the Shrine of Our Lady in Aparecida (Brazil).

This meeting of apostles of Divine Mercy will be accompanied by the words of the “Magnificat” hymn: “His Mercy from generation to generation for those who fear Him”, and attended by at least 5,000 people from all over the continent. In the program: conferences, lectures, testimonies, communal prayer and cultural events.

At the opening, an occasional message will be delivered from Pope Francis. Archbishop of Aparecida, Raymundo Cardinal Damasceno, co-organizer and host of the Congress, stressed that this event is designed to “raise awareness and awakening to the Church of the Americas and give new impetus to parish and diocesan ministry, making Divine Mercy the paradigm of evangelization”.
